What is Regenerative Medicine?
Regenerative medicine encompasses all the many different cells our body needs to repair and recover after lost or injured tissue. Regenerative medicine includes mesenchymal stem cells, but it also includes other components like growth factors, cytokines, hyaluronic acids, and chemokines that aid in the repair and regeneration processes.
What conditions can Regenerative Medicine be used for?
Regenerative Medicine can be used for many musculoskeletal conditions including neck pain, back pain, shoulder pain, hip pain, knee pain, and ankle pain.
Will this help me?
We use stem cells and regenerative medicine to help alleviate pain while resolving the underlying structural issue in patients. We can get you scheduled for an initial consultation with our medical PA so she can examine you and determine if you are a good candidate for regenerative medicine therapy.
Where does the regenerative medicine come from?
We use Predictive Biotech for all of our stem cell and regenerative medicine products. All of the products at Predictive Biotech are sourced from umbilical cords and amniotic matrices from healthy moms and healthy babies during live cesarean section births. All products are also tested by a 3rd party laboratory to ensure quality and viability. Feel free to visit Predictive Biotech’s website (predictivebiotech.com) for more detailed information.
Is Regenerative Medicine safe?
Regenerative Medicine is extremely safe. There is no chance of rejection because these cells are what we call “immune privileged”, therefore our immune system cannot recognize them as foreign cells and thus will not reject them.
How do I know if I am a candidate for Regenerative Medicine?
An initial consultation and examination with our medical provider is required before any treatment can take place. This consultation will include a comprehensive review of your medical history and current problem areas. A thorough examination will also be conducted. Imaging will be reviewed and/or ordered at this time if need be to determine the cause of your problem(s). Once a diagnosis is established, Sierra will discuss treatment options with you including if you are a candidate for Regenerative Medicine therapy.
What can I expect in terms of downtime/recovery?
There is little to no downtime with this procedure. It is a quick procedure done in-office. The whole appointment for the day of the procedure takes about 30 minutes – 1 hour. You’ll need to rest for a few days following the procedure and then slowly resume normal activities after about a month. Specific instructions will be provided at the time of your treatment.
